Hiking Safari

John Muir once said, "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."  It is so true when you take your first step into the bushveld. 

After you have arrived and have shaken off the dust of travel your base camp, Shikwaru Lodge offers you acres upon acres and foot hills upon foot hills of hiking.  You can acclimate yourself to the weather and environment for the first day or so by just stepping out of your chalet and taking that "first step."

When you are ready you might want to travel to one of the local national parks such as Pilansberg National Park, the fourth largest in South Africa, and home to the Big 5 and take to the trails

Or you might want to take a short flight to Namibia and hike the many trails of Etosha National Park that has a total of 23,000 sq km.  It boasts 114 different species of animals and some of the most beautiful scenery in Namibia
