Reason why we support......

How many times have you heard, "If you don't give no one will."  This phrase is usually accompanied by photos of people in poverty, children with big eyes obviously suffering from hunger and some type of disease.  You will usually have one of three reactions to this type of request for support.  The first is that this must be some type of scam.  Second it might be that you say to yourself you just don't have money for this along with all else that is going on in your life and especially during these times.  Besides, "if I don't do it then somebody ELSE will." 

Here's our response to that concept of "somebody ELSE will"....   then how come there are still children in South Africa made orphans by AIDS and HIV and still living in abject poverty without hope for any type of decent life? 

I mentioned that there are usually three responses.  We at Ubuntu Adventures believe the third..... "Give!"

Ubuntu Adventures was formed for the specific reason to provide funding for Reaching A Generation, a non profit organization in South Africa.  Reaching a Generation is an organization that partners with companies, communities, churches, schools, hospitals and other Non Governmental Organizations for the purpose of effecting and changing the lives and destinies of the children of South and Southern Africa and giving a message that there is hope regardless the huge challenges facing our world today.

All of the profit from your hunt, safari, adventure or anything else that you pay for through Ubuntu Adventures or Shikwaru Lodge goes directly to Reaching a Generation.  Rather than go into all that is provided though our support we suggest that you go to the Reaching a Generation web site by clicking here and seeing for yourself.

First let us say that whether you are interested or not where the profit from your adventure goes it still does what it is meant to do.  We guarantee it.  You are most certainly invited to investigate more into what Reaching a Generation is all about simply by emailing the staff or when you are at Shikwaru Lodge just mention that you would like to know more about this endeavor. 

We also suggest that everyone and every family or group have some humanitarian endeavor that they support by either  money, time or effort.  These are the three things that keep any organization moving forward.  The way that you find the one or at the most two organizations that you want to put your money, time and effort into is you do your homework.  Research all that they do, who the board members are, ask to see "the books" and if you can, visit the headquarters and volunteer.  Then you will know for sure that your money, time and effort will be going where you want it to.  You are invited to do all of that during your stay at Shikwaru Lodge or you can email us at paul@ubuntuadventures.com
